On 19 May 2026, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the granting of city rights to Tychy, a scientific seminar entitled “Tychy – Past, Present, Future” was held. At the invitation of the Mayor of Tychy, Maciej Gramatyka, Professor Grzegorz Maciejewski, a member of the management board of Coffee and Tea Market Research Institute, took part in the event.

    The seminar provided an excellent opportunity to integrate representatives of the local business, academic and local government communities. Among the participants were the Silesian Voivode, senators and members of the Polish Parliament, district governors and mayors of cities belonging to the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis (GZM), professors from Silesian universities, as well as numerous business representatives associated with the Katowice Special Economic Zone.

    The event also became an excellent occasion to promote both the Institute and its scientific journal, Coffee and Tea Marketing Journal, which attracted considerable interest among the seminar participants. Particular attention should be paid to the intention to establish cooperation with the Institute of Sociology at the University of Silesia in Katowice, represented by Professor Grzegorz Gawron, the chairman of the organizing committee.
