MOKATE INVESTS IN THE FUTURE. EXPANSION OF THE PLANT IN USTRON AS AN EXAMPLE OF MODERN AND RESPONSIBLE INDUSTRY

30.12.2025

The expansion of the Mokate SA production plant in Ustron has been one of the company’s most important investment projects in recent years. This investment not only strengthens the production potential of one of the leaders in the coffee and tea market in Central and Eastern Europe, but also demonstrates how modern industry can combine innovation, efficiency and environmental responsibility.

The new part of the plant has been equipped with automated production lines and robotic systems, designed in accordance with Industry 4.0 principles. In Ustron, real-time quality control systems, collaborative robots (cobots) and modern packaging formats, including tea pyramids and double-chamber sachets, are being implemented in response to growing consumer expectations.

‘Ustron is a special place for Mokate, both in terms of operations and identity. The expansion of the plant is a natural stage in our development, and also confirmation that we are committed to long-term investment based on modern technologies and a responsible approach to business,’ emphasises Dr Sylwia Mokrysz, proxy of Mokate SA.

Technology, quality and production flexibility. The technological solutions which are used significantly increase operational efficiency, shorten order fulfilment times and improve product repeatability and quality. This is particularly important in the rapidly changing FMCG market, where flexibility and responsiveness are becoming key competitive factors.

‘A key element of our development is careful observation of the market and a quick response to consumer needs. We invest in quality, technology and sustainable solutions because we believe that it is responsibility that will define modern brands,’ stresses Sylwia Mokrysz.

The expansion of the Ustron plant also supports the development of Mokate’s product portfolio, which includes both classic coffee and tea segments, as well as lifestyle and functional products, such as the Hot&Cold and Taste of the World lines.

Sustainable development in practice. Environmental responsibility is an important pillar of the investment. The Ustron plant uses energy from renewable sources, including photovoltaic systems, to reduce CO2 emissions. The company also consistently implements packaging made from biodegradable materials, as well as solutions that reduce the consumption of raw materials and energy in production processes.

‘Modern industry cannot function today without a realistic approach to sustainable development. For us, this is not an addition to our strategy, but an integral part of it,’ emphasises Sylwia Mokrysz.

These activities form part of a comprehensive ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) strategy, which Mokate considers to be the foundation of modern management rather than just a formal requirement.

‘For us, implementing ESG principles is about more than just caring for the environment. It is a culture of responsibility that permeates all areas of our business, from strategic decisions to everyday production processes. We take a broad view; we want to create positive change for people and the planet,’ she says.

Confirmation of standards on the international stage. The effectiveness of Mokate’s activities in the area of sustainable development has been confirmed in the international EcoVadis assessment. Mokate SA and Mokate Czech s.r.o. were awarded a bronze medal, placing them among the top 35% of the best-rated companies in the world. Mokate Sp. z o.o., in turn, was awarded a badge of commitment in recognition of its commitment to implementing ESG principles in its daily operations.

‘We treat these awards as motivation and a commitment. We believe that a modern company should not only respond to market needs, but also actively contribute to a more sustainable world,’ adds Sylwia Mokrysz.

Local plant, European perspective. The expansion of the Ustron plant also boosts the local economy and labour market. The investment strengthens the competence of the teams, develops the region’s technological infrastructure and demonstrates that modern industry can flourish outside major urban areas while upholding European standards of quality, efficiency and responsibility. Mokate has announced further investments in technology and product development, proving that sustainable development is an impetus for innovation, not a barrier – also from a European perspective.
