Coffee and Tea Market Research Institute at the 30th Conference of Departments of Marketing, Retail and Consumption

22.09.2025

On 15–17 September 2025, the 30th Jubilee Conference of Departments of Marketing, Retail and Consumption took place at the Almond Hotel in Gdańsk. This is the largest scientific event of its kind in Poland, held every two years.

The Jubilee Conference, organised under the motto “United by Marketing”, was an exceptional event — both a tribute to all previous editions and a platform for knowledge exchange, sharing experiences, and strengthening unity within the marketing community.

During the Conference, participants explored the role of marketing in the face of 21st-century challenges — economic, socio-cultural, demographic, and political — and discussed its significance for organisations operating in a rapidly changing world. The programme included debates covering theoretical, empirical, and methodological perspectives.

The event was organised by the Departments of Marketing at the Faculty of Management, University of Gdańsk, and the Faculty of Management and Economics, Gdańsk University of Technology, in cooperation with the University of Gdańsk Development Foundation.

The Conference focused on the latest research findings and key challenges in marketing across the following areas:

  • Marketing strategies in times of economic uncertainty, political and social crises.
  • Methodologies, trends, and innovations in market research.
  • Marketing in building public value, non-profit activities, and social communication.
  • Transformation of marketing communication in times of technological and social change.
  • The use of AI in data analysis, personalisation, and marketing automation.
  • Transformative technologies in marketing: Metaverse, IoT, VR, AR, and big data.
  • Marketing in subscription models, the sharing economy, and e-commerce.
  • Generational shifts and new consumer behaviour patterns, including phygital consumers.
  • Omnichannel strategies: integrating online and offline experiences.
  • Customer experience management and building long-term brand relationships.
  • Environmentally, socially, and ethically responsible marketing in the context of sustainable development.
  • Challenges and opportunities arising from cultural diversity and international expansion.

At the opening session, Prof. Grzegorz Maciejewski, post PhD, presented the Coffee and Tea Market Research Institute (C&TMRI) as an exemplary case of effective cooperation between science and practice, in this instance represented by Sylwia Mokrysz, PhD — President of C&TMRI and concurrently Proxy and member of the Management Board of MOKATE SA. His presentation also introduced the academic journal Coffee and Tea Marketing Journal, outlining its mission, thematic scope, aspirations, and publishing cycle. All the participants of the Conference, which amounted to nearly 200 people, were invited to submit their scientific papers on the coffee and tea market to C&TMJ.

During the thematic sessions, the following members of C&TMRI delivered presentations:
